Ethan made his Mako debut in 2016 and has featured prominently throughout the last 4 seasons. A rangy loose forward who has a high work rate in general play and strong line out capability, he enjoyed a breakout year in Super Rugby in 2017 being named Crusaders Rookie of the Year and made appearances in 2018 & 2019. Ethan played in the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup Premiership victory. Unfortunately an injury in the 2019 Super Rugby Aotearoa competition has ruled him out of the 2020 Mitre 10 Cup campaign. An outstanding season for the Crusaders culminated with Ethan being named as All Black # 1195, making his debut against Tonga in July 2021.
