A Christchurch Boys High School product, Louie represented NZ Schools Barbarians in 2017 as a halfback. He has been a part of the Crusaders Junior Knights program before coming to Tasman, playing for Kahurangi. He played 5 games in 2020 as an injury replacement before really establishing himself in Finlay Christie's All Blacks absence with 10 games in 2021, including the NPC Final. Louie appeared in 9 matches in 2022.
