2020 Mitre 10 Cup draw for defending Champions

The Tasman Mako were handed home games against Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Southland and Canterbury when the revised Mitre 10 Cup provincial rugby draw was released by NZR.

During the lockdown period Mako supporters were given a challenge designed to keep them occupied and amused. The Tasman RU set up a Facebook poll in which users were encouraged to vote for their favourite Mako player in each position from the last 14 seasons, culminating in a “Fans XV”.

Tasman Mako to test talent depth on United States tour

A 27-strong development team, comprising contracted Tasman players who do not have Super contracts, Tasman B and U19 players, representing the Mitre 10 Cup premiership champions will play games against American Major League side the Houston SaberCats on Saturday January 18 (Sunday NZ time) followed by league champions the Seattle Seawolves on Sunday January 26 (Monday NZ time).
